For many projects the most important aspect of casting is chemistry — no matter how good the actors are individually, it’s vital that they can interact together effectively. Considering the success of Starz’s Outlander television series, casting really got it right with its leads.
In this screen test, the show’s two leads — Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heaughan — interact in an emotional scene. This was Balfe’s final screen test, while Heaughan had already been cast as Jamie.
