Last night, country music legend Loretta Lynn announced from the stage of the Ryman Auditorium that she chose Zooey Deschanel to portray her in an upcoming Broadway-bound stage adaptation of Coal Miner’s Daughter.
Zooey Deschanel, said she had no problem switching from film to television roles. She said, “I connected to the character…and there’s good material in television.”
“My approach has tended to be more intellectual, and I enjoy doing television because I can explore things every week that I wouldn’t have had the runway space to do before”
“I wanted something upbeat that really felt like a theme song,” explained Deschanel
