Fan favorite actor Paul Rudd has appeared in dozens of memorable roles in films, including the Anchorman movies, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Ant-Man, as well as a supporting role on the final two seasons of TV’s Friends. He also seems to be liked by just about everyone (seriously, when was the last time you heard someone say they didn’t care for Paul Rudd?)
But like all actors, Rudd had to start somewhere. One of Rudd’s first films was the sixth Halloween movie, 1995’s Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. In the film, Rudd portrays the grown-up version of Tommy Doyle, the young boy that Laurie Strode babysits in the original Halloween movie.
In his audition for the part, Rudd runs the gamut of emotions from seriousness to anger and, of course, has the classic audition bit of speaking on the phone. It’s fair to say that Rudd has grown as an actor since this audition — but it demonstrates that no matter where your career begins (even if it happens to be the Halloween sequel with the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score), there is always the next project to push your career forward!
