Happy birthday, Patrick Stewart! The beloved Star Trek star turned 81 years old yesterday.
In 2020, Stewart returned to his most famous role — Jean-Luc Picard — in the CBS All-Access (and later Paramount+) series Star Trek: Picard for the first time since the 2002 movie Star Trek: Nemesis. The second season of the series will premiere in 2022.
Shortly after the first season of the season ended, Stewart sat for a SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations at Home with moderator Mara Webster, who worked for the Foundation at the time of the interview. Stewart goes into detail about returning to his fan-favorite role after nearly 20 years and what’s different about portraying a nearly 100 year-old Picard.
