Happy birthday, Jonathan Pryce! The Academy Award nominee for The Two Popes turned 73 years old on June 1st.
For Pryce, his Oscar nomination seemed like a recognition of a six-decade film career featuring some acclaimed films as Brazil and Glengarry Glen Ross as well as blockbusters like The Pirates of the Caribbean. On stage, Pryce is a two-time Tony Award winner (Miss Saigon, Comedians) as well as a two-time Olivier Award winner. It’s fair to say that when someone as renowned as Pryce speaks about acting, you ought to listen!
Earlier this year Pryce sat for a career retrospective conversation presented by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation moderated by Scott Feinberg of The Hollywood Reporter. While the discussion goes in depth about Pryce’s The Two Popes role, the actor speaks in depth about his many roles in film, television, and on stage.
