Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Connelly turns 45 years old tomorrow which means she’s been acting for over thirty years. Connelly’s first film role was in Sergio Leone’s 1984 gangster epic Once Upon a Time in America, but her best known early role is playing Sarah in 1986’s Labyrinth, Jim Henson‘s off-the-wall fantasy adventure movie starring none other than rock legend David Bowie.
Though Bowie’s Jareth the Goblin King is quite dismissive of the young Sarah, her audition for the role reveals that Connelly was more than capable of holding her own as an actress. Straight from the Jim Henson vaults, you can check out a clip of Connelly’s audition for the cult favorite movie.
