But he really lacked a breakthrough role — and he seemed to be luckless when it came to auditioning for major blockbusters. Then came his role as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything and Redmayne has since been bestowed with critical praise and award nominations, including an Oscar nomination. Not bad for a guy who bombed some big auditions, right?
