Despite a now varied film career, Daniel Radcliffe will always be known for Harry Potter. He’ll never escape it, but then neither would he want to. Radcliffe still talks very fondly of his time playing the boy wizard, and his fellow stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are also very open about what a fantastic start it gave them and how much they enjoyed making the movies.
However, rumor has it that Radcliffe was rather embarrassed recently, when some tapes of his Harry Potter auditions surfaced online. In the two clips, Radcliffe can be seen screentesting with Watson and Grint as well as by himself. Both clips are adorable, and serve as a stark reminder of how far these three have come since. They really are just kids here, but even so, their talent is evident.
It’s great to watch Radcliffe getting to grips with Harry’s glasses; something he most definitely got used to over time. Something else that’s great to watch is the burgeoning friendship between the trio; the first take at their library scene from “The Sorcerer’s Stone” is sweet, but the second take much better, and full of shared looks and intonations that come as actors get more used to working with one another.
Of course, as the films themselves show, though they grew up, these three nailed their characters very well indeed, and provided us with a whole franchise of films to love and enjoy for many years to come.
