Though Trumbo didn’t make as big of a splash at the box office as many expected, it still won audiences and critics over with Bryan Cranston‘s portrayal of the famous blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. Another strong performance from the film came from Helen Mirren, who played Hedda Hopper, the real-life anti-Soviet gossip columnist who served as a foil to Trumbo’s efforts to remain employed as a screenwriter despite his well-known politics. Trumbo is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
