Though Black Mass was shut out on the Oscars, many still praised the film’s depiction of infamous Boston gangster Whitey Bulger. In particular, Johnny Depp received praise for his first outside-the-box role in quite some time in his portrayal of Bulger. The movie, which is now available on Blu-ray and DVD, will likely remain one of Depp’s standout roles.
