Though she’s far better known for her music, Beyoncé Knowles has amassed an impressive list of acting credits since she made her acting debut in the TV movie Carmen: A Hip Hopera. Perhaps her most acclaimed role was in the 2006 musical Dreamgirls, in which Knowles portrayed Deena Jones (a stand-in for Diana Ross, whose life much of the musical is based on).
To celebrate Knowles’ 35th birthday today, here is her audition and screen test for Dreamgirls. Obviously, some singing was involved!
